How often is charity data updated?
We update our charity scores and data as new ratings are published by our three sources — GiveWell, Charity Navigator, and CharityWatch. Major updates typically happen annually, with smaller corrections applied on an ongoing basis.
Can a charity pay to improve its ranking?
No. GiveWise is completely independent. Rankings are based solely on the composite score derived from our three data sources. No charity can pay to appear on the site or to improve its position. See our About page for more on our independence.
Why isn't a particular charity listed?
We currently list charities that appear in the evaluations of at least one of our three data sources. If a charity is not yet evaluated by GiveWell, Charity Navigator, or CharityWatch, we don't have a reliable score to display. Let us know via email if there's a specific charity you'd like us to consider.
I think a score or fact is wrong. What should I do?
Please email data@gives-well.com with the charity name, the information you believe is incorrect, and a source for the correct figure. We take data accuracy seriously and will investigate promptly.
How do I opt out of personalised ads?
You can opt out of personalised advertising via Google's Ads Settings. For more information see our Privacy Policy.
